my girlfriend has a viper 771xv i installed in her car (before i met her lol). so now i'm gonna do the remote start part soon but when i was on the phone w/ my tech support (secret weapon-best buy) they said i might not need one. some sites list directed's new PKALL piece and others list the 556U universal one and others dont list one at all.

the thing is that my girlfriend has many keys for her car (copied) and always went to home depot and such to get a copy, never had to go to the dealer so that makes me think she doesnt need one. i needed one for my car (04 accord) and when i wanted a replacement key, dealer charged me 180 bucks to cut the key and program it as well.

can anyone please help verify this?

the pkall will work if you can find it. it is a new dei (bypasskits piece) the 556uw is a universal that requires loosing a key to opperate. old school.
ps you can get those keys on ebay with instructions on how to program them if you have two working keys now., most of the time there is a flashing key or something on your dash if there is a chipped key system installed.
one other thing is the PKall needs to working keys to program but does not need one to opperate.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.

If she has a key that cost a $1 at Home Depot that starts the car, she does not need a bypass module. Usually, only Hyundai's built for the Canadian market have immobilizer keys.
