Is there a website with instructions on how to remore this radio? On Alldata's site it says you have to remove the steering wheel to get the front panel off.

I spoke too quick. This is a GT and the panel I'm asking about is a lot larger than the regular Grand AM. It goes all the way to the driver side door, accross the steering wheel.

I have not had to remove a steering wheel or drop a steering column since the Datsun B-210 or 510.  you may have to remove the decorative panels mounted atop and botom of the steering column, but I really doubt the steering wheel needs to come off.   If it does need to come off to get the panel off, you should be able to unsnap it and get it far enough from the radio to get the radio in and out without completely removing the panel.
