I have a 94 mustang gt. I have everything hooked up on my alarm except this blue wire (for the trunk/hood pin)it's supposed to be a negative trigger that goes to ground when the trunk is open. I've been looked all over to find out what color the negative trunk trigger on this car is but can't find it. The only one I can find is BLACK/ Pink (+) Light in Trunk but that's a positive trigger (at least I think it is). Anyone help me out? W/o this I can't use the remote trunk release and that sucks.

The Blue Hood/Trunk pin wire has nothing to do with the trunk release wire.    Audiovox has the following info for the security wiring.

They have the following for the trunk release wire.

Chances are your alarm system has a negative output for trunk release, you will have to use a relay to convert the negative out of the alarm to a positive pulse that will release the trunk.

Convert a Negative Output to a Positive Output
If you have a switch or an alarm or keyless entry that has a negative output that you wish to use to switch a device that requires 12V+ such as a horn, dome light, parking lights, head lights, hatch release, etc., wire a relay as shown below to convert the negative output (trigger) to a positive output.

The aux output of your alarm connects to the wire labeled trigger.   The wire labeled +12 V output connects to the Violet / YELLOW wire on the trunk release button.

The blue wire of the alarm can be connected to the BLACK/ Pink wire at the trunk switch.  The wire should be the same color on the trunk light also.

Ya, I was following along, until his last sentence. Now I'm not sure if he's looking for trunk ajar or release.
Ideal - cmon dude, add to topics in a useful manner, not stuff that is obvious.
Story - Phzzzt! Hey, what happened?! ... Isn't it obvious?
Moral - Never dismiss the obvious.

thanks! I wired it like you said and the trunk finally pops like it should. The only thing I didn't do was hook up the hood/trunk pin. What's the purpose of that? Sorry for the newbie questions and thanks for all your help.

Makes your alarm go off if the trunk is opened.
