Hello all,
I just finished installing a DEI 560xv into a 2002 Chevrolet 1500HD. I am waiting on delivery of my GMBP unit to bypass the PassLock II system, so right now the remote start part does not work (i knew this going into the install).
Anyway, my question. After installing and programing the unit (settings will be listed below) I noticed that as soon as I shut the ignition off the LED in the dash begins flashing. Is this normal? As I recall from my last install w/ a 560xv a few years back the LED would only flash when the unit was armed (like locking the doors).
Reading through the install manual, the one option that seems to suggest the LED flashing right after turning off the ignition is option 1-9 Automatic engine disable. I am pretty certain that this is programed off, however tonight I plan on going through and making sure that all the settings are as listed below.
Is there any other reasons that may cause the LED to begin flashing as soon as the ignition is turned off?
Items changed from the default are in bold.

1-2 Arm/disarm chirps on
1-3 Ignition lock OFF
1-4 Ignition unlock OFF

If that works light the passive immobilisation on our UK Cat 1 alarms from DEI, that light shouldn't start flashing until a minute has elapsed, it will also flash at a slower rate. Not sure but maybe change ignition controlled domelight to on.

And the problem was....... NOTHING.
Well, I don't know if it was nothing, but I went through and reprogrammed the unit back to factory specs. Then I went through and programed it to the above configuration. Now it operates as it should. When I shut the ignition off the LED remains off, it only flashes when the unit is armed. Flashes a few fast flashes then off for a sec then a few fast flashes, etc. Also oddly enough, before when I was having trouble it would not go into Valet mode (well at least the LED would not light when attempting). Now that it is fixed, it will go into Valet mode.
Weird, weird, weird, weird, weird. Must have wized the microcontroller off some how. LOL.
Thank you all for the help.
Conrad
