Hey everyone,
Trying to get back into the installation field after a good 5 - 7 years. I am amazed at the number of changes and new products. I know many of the wiring diagrams and component locations can be found on this awesome website. I see there are also companies that you can buy annual memberships from that offer info, diagrams, support, etc. for different vehicles. Do any of you shop owners use any of these? Do you recommend any one of them over another?
Also, are there any websites, manuals or companies that offer diagrams for interior panel removal i.e. door panels, dashes, etc? (I hate the feeling of snapping a plastic retainer or scuffing an interior panel during removal!!!)
Thanks everyone. I try to work as cleanly and carefully as possible with customers cars so any extra help or reference materials I can get my hands on is very much appreciated.

Just make sure you use a panel popper instead of a flat head. One good reference is the sheet of paper that comes with the Metra kits. For the most part it details how to get to the radio out,

audiovox has free wiring charts. I use Fortins Wire Guide which is amazing. It has detailed pictures of all wires. Other programs like this are Installogy, Astrochart, DEI directech, wiremagic.

The Metra sheets are available on their website also. Pick a car and they show you a breakdown of the radio and how to get it out. Audiovox is a good place for free tech info tho it isn't greatly accurate...

also how about some sites that have vehicle wiring schematics other than autozone.com, any ideas like mitchell1 and how to get into these sites. Does any one have a copy of the astrochart that they want to get rid of.

you need to have a serial number to get access to their stuff. and this is only avilable if you carry their bypasses.

to get directtechs you have to be a DEI dealer. cant get acess without their "junk"

astrochart, same thing really. you can ask KarTuneMan how astrochart has helped him over the years, but if you want a copy you gotta be a dealer. if you dont want anything to do with the company, installogy and wiremagic are simply wiring cart programs.
