How does one test what wires are being used for the steering wheel controls? Cause I'm installing A SWI-ECL2 into my 2007 Nissan Altima and think I might have the wrong wires. I installed everything correctly according to PAC audio's website and the follow buttons only work Volume Down, Track Down and Mode(Source). Which I believe are all on one wire. Volume up, and Track up are on a separate wire which I cant seem to get working. Any Help would be great.

On that car I believe that the voltage will change slightly when a button on the steering wheel is pressed.

ex. press volume up and the reading on your VOM will go up or down 1V compared to rest

It resistance based and if the module partially works now, then you have the right wire. Seems like you programmed some of the buttons properly, but not all of them. Re-do the button programming and see if the proplem persists. Post your results.

You have the right wire, you need to go back through the programming procedure, also make sure the engine is running when you program. Not sure why, but PAC techs told me to try it and it seems to work better. Good luck.
