We are trying to install remote start on a 2003 Nissan 350z and the bcm wire diagram does not match the car.  The DLPK module shows a plug with 40 pins and our car only has 22 pins.  We already have the wire diagram for 2003-2005 350z, but the plugs do not match up....Does anyone have any ideas?  Is there another diagram out there?  Or how we can figure out which of our wires is the Vehicle Security Light (LED) wire....there is no LED in the car that we can look at.  Thanks.

The vehicle security light is normally on the dash ...Turn key to on position...see anything on dash...On some vehicles it is not necessary to bypass other then it being on during remote start...I looked it up on Flash-it.com It also lists a 40 pin plug.It says GREEN/ orange connector m3...Are you just counting the wires or actually all the spots a wire could be...? It shows it as the top plug ...parallel to the floor.

SECURITY LED IS NOT PRESENT IN ALL VEHICLES.

IF DURING YOUR REMOTE START SEQUENCE THE

SECURITY LED STAYS ON OR FLASHES, YOU MUST

INTERRUPT THE SECURITY LED WIRE. THIS WIRE IS

LOCATED AT THE BCM.

REFER TO CHART FOR EXACT LOCATION

How many plugs does it have?  Nissan has a tendency to swap BCMs even mid year, so it's sometimes hard to get an exact BCM wiring diagram.

Here is one that might be close: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/350Z/coupe/2003/pg.pdf

Check out page 72 of that link for a terminal layout - it is showing five smaller plugs (the more recent BCMs tend to have three bigger plugs).

If that is the correct arrangement let me know what wires you are looking for and I will find them in the service manual.

Thank You!  We are looking for the Vehicle Security Light (LED) wire...to add remote start to the car.  On the Xpresskit (DLPK) on configuration 13 it shows a plug with 40 pins and the wire is PIN 38 and the 350z 2003 we have doesn't have a plug like that....Thanks again for your help.

The service manual shows the LED to be at pin 55 (page 103 of the BL.pdf file).

Pin 55 is in a 24 pin brown harness   2003 nissan 350z bcm wire diagram -- posted image.
