how much more power for more speakers?

Looking for a good rule of thumb...

Let's say I have 50w amp pushing one driver (say 8" for this example), how much more power would I need to push 4 of that same driver?  Is it possible to say?

I know that when you add a driver, you add 3db of output, thus doubling the percieved loudness, and that each driver's excursion would only by 50% as much, right?  So if I used four/4 drivers, it would only push each one 25%, so would it really need more power?  Or would it need more power just to "get them moving"?

You can literally use any amp with any number of speakers so long as you do not exceed the current capability of the amp (load it with too low a loudspeaker impedance.)  So "how much you need" all depends on what your goals are.  This calculator is for pro audio but if you're clever with your distance input you can use it to indicate car audio performance as well.  Realize the sensitivity number needs to be for the speaker system (driver plus enclosure) to get real-world numbers with a tool like this.
