Sorry, maybe I'm envious bec ause I'd been installing for about 30 years before I came across this site. ALL my work is mobile, I've test meters and a MAC LED probe, wonderful for finding tach and also the good old Snap-On test probe. I won't use a power probe though. I know what evefrybody says but I work much faster with the Snap-On.  Having said that I'm also very careful where I shove it. No unintended puns. The point is I'm always in the back of beyond, 2 cell phones (different carriers) inverter + cordless Weller and Weller gun etc. etc. It's just preparation and regarding cribbing, yes I do as well, DEI, Audiovox and this site which is excellent, unfortunately none are any good for European cars, even the UK and US Astras and Focus have wiring differences.  I just get down and grind my way through, thats why I've about 20 clothing articles from DEI, Kenwood etc. for info sharing. Haven't bought a T shirt in about 5 years!

Steve- Now that you've explained your job a little better I understand. I assume that most people with low posts asking these questions need "holding their hand". I don't try to come across mean, but I want people to "learn while doing" instead of just "doing". So then redundant questions don't come up.
As for the DMM, I have a $50 craftsman, and it does everything I want plus more. But i do have a $500 o-scope that could make up for the price of the DMM 2005 6 series bmw wiring info - Page 2 - Last Post -- posted image.

Re the Focus, did it have a combined fuse/gem box behind the glovebox?  I did an R/Start recently, the grey/black (starter) was constant live! I think someone had been fiddling, anyway I had  to go the a relay in the engine bay fuse box, also ignore DEI directwire ref door contacts on these and go to the BLACK/ yellw dome and diode the POS feed on all your lights.
