I have a 99 chevy cavalier that the ign has been changed out and the computer has not been relearned to the new ign.
any way around this?
I dont have the old key or ign.
I think this is a bulb test car and i would just have to guess the resistor value.

PATS is a Ford system. Your car has either Passlock I or Passlock II.
Anyway, go here:
https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=72296&KW=permanent+passlock+bypass
Go to the fifth post down, and then go to the part that says "5. PROGRAMMING."
Since you don't think your car has a defective Passlock sensor in the ignition switch, just ignore all the stuff about the resistor and the cutting and splicing......just go with the programming first and see if it works.
