I don't know whether I should be offended by that, but I feel like I am... just a little bit, but still... I can assure you that DYohn and I are anything BUT laymen... I have been in the electrical field since 1986, when I got my high-voltage electrical training with electronics theory in the Navy. While I wasn't climbing power poles to string 14.4kV distribution lines and hang 25kVA transformers, I was in the mechanics shop, rewiring and rebuilding HO military alternators on jeeps... That's me. DYohn has been in the electronics field for about 20 years longer than I have. He has worked with secret and top secret military acoustics and electrical for quite possibly longer than you have been alive! You should REALLY read the bios for some of the people trying to help you out, before you challenge their expertise. When we recommend you take your car to have it checked, it is likely that we have thought it out a bit, before suggesting that. I'm done, and I assure you I am *not* even remotely a layman. Fix the damn thing yourself.It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

My advice to get the electrical system checked by a shop in your area is completely technical.
