I have a 99 Silverado with the side terminal battery.  I am not able to connect the amp power wire at the + terminal because of the plastic lip and end of the + wire.

I have a small junction box that the battery wire goes into.  The alternator wire connects there and thenit goes down to the starter.  There is a nice stud / plate that they connect to.  Could I connect my amp power wire there?

Any issues with grounding to the seat mounting bolt?

Yes, you can use the terminal block, and no, don't use the seat bolt (or the seatbelt bolt) for grounding.  Drill and sand a proper ground into the chassis of the vehicle.

You can also purchase battery terminal bolts that are specially designed for side mount batteries for under $10.

i upgraded the bat+ - alt wire on my '93olds cutlass, and it ran into the starter, so i just ran my amp wire off of the starter post
