extending alarm/starter wires

I installed a compustar 2WSS in my Honda Accord about 3 years ago and I am planning on upgrading to the Viper 5902.  I solder ALL my connections when installing the compustar and I am trying to avoid un-soldering and removing existing wires.  I was thinking about cutting all wiring fairly close to the existing module(I do not care about the compustar) and soldering or using terminal blocks to connect the new viper wiring.  If I leave all the wiring the factory length on the viper when connecting to existing wiring, this will cause all wiring to be twice as long.  Will this have any impact on functionality? Such as voltage drop on inputs and outputs? I know there will be a very small voltage drop, but will it be enough to cause any problems.

If you cut them all at the brain I would trim back the Viper wires at least a little bit, otherwise you'll have a big rats nest of wire right there!  You may look on Ebay for a spare harness so you don't have to hack up the brand new one.
