Connect that Orange wire to the Purple Starter Output Wire from the Avital unit.  The Purple wire only gets connected to the Orange wire, it is NOT connected to any starter wire in the car.

An easy way to do this car is with the iDatalink bypass module.  The ADS DL unit flashed with the ADS DL(GM4) firmware will do the bypass and the cars Lock, UnLock, Arm, & DisArm.  I used the ADS DL module on a 05 Equinox LT and it worked like a champ.

The car actually starts when it sees the IGN & ACC signals go to +12v and then when the ACC signal drops, it starts (cranks) the engine.

Soldering is fun!
