So i purchased a fiberglass box. it looks good and everything. i took it to a shop to get it installed. it did not sound good at all. i tried everything to get it to sound good. messed with the amp and nothing. so i pull the box out and realize that they drilled a hole to run a wire through. so there is a hole with a wire running through it now. you could actually push in the wire from the outside. i was positive this was the reason it wasnt sounding good but i used some jb weld to seal it up and it still sounds the same. can someone please help me out? maybe i did something wrong?

Did you use the same subs that the box was designed for? That's the first thing I would check. Second, check for stability. Is it rigid enough that the subs are not vibrating it?

yeah it turns out that the box is too weak. supposedly the guy that had it before had a w6 and had it sounding good. i put a w3 in it and doesnt sound good at all. the box is so weak that you can bend it on some parts of the box. now i am on the lookout for a better quality fiberglass box similar to the one that i have

beef up the inside with some more fiberglass or atleast smear on some bondo with fiberglass in it.  if it is juast weak that is fixable.
