do not cut vehicles pink wire! only wire that should be cut is yellow(or purple) for starter kill, the reason truck will crank but not start is you cut the primary ign wire which turns on fuel pump and fuel injectors, put that wire back togehter and only tap the vipers pink wire into it, the red wire goes to either the red or RED / white constant hot

Yes, as long as it is capable of suppling the current load required.  Some cars have multiple +12 volt constant wires at the ignition switch ( like older Fords, all the same color ).  On other cars, it is best to go to the battery or the fuse box.

Yes, I think.   I believe you are referring to the +12v constant wires located at the Yukons' ignition switch.  There are actually 4 wires from the Viper that need +12 v constant. The 3 on the H3 harness you mentioned and H1/2.  If both the Red and RED / White at the ignition switch harness test as +12v constant, split the 4 Viper power wires between them.

A little terminology clarification might be helpful.  Refer to the 5701 Install Guide.  It is available in the Downloads section of this site.  Starting on page 13, it describes the wires found at the ignition switch, their usual name and how to test & identify them with a DMM.

A quality install takes time and think of all the valuable knowledge you have gained.    viper 5701, car wont start - Page 3 - Last Post -- posted image.

The wiring guides for the Buick can be found Bulldog Security :  http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew/vehiclewiringdiagrams.asp  and at the AudioVox site :  http://techservices.audiovox.com/Login.aspx  Sign-up is free.   The Buick is similar and the bypass will take care of some wiring for you, making for an easier install.  If you need assistance on it just start a new Topic thread.
