Hey guys I have a 2001 dodge ram 2500 diesel. I recently put it a viper 5101 remote starter. I'm having one issue with it. It will not lock or unlock the doors when the ignition is on. It works fine with the ignition off and when the remote start is running the vehicle but with the ignition on no go. I talked to a couple of installers around here with no luck. So if somebody could shed some light on this topic I would appreciate.
Thanks
Jesse

I don't have factory keyless entry or alarm. The lock work fine when the ignition is off but when you turn it on the pulse coming out of the module is not there. I used a voltmeter and checked the pulse with the ignition off and the ignition on. Do I have something hooked up wrong?
Thanks

are you sure you don't have a factory alarm? most of these that i've worked on do have it. I also generally use the disarm/arm wire for locks on chyslers.

Positive. But you can bypass the vehicle locks all together and check for the 12 volt pulse coming directly out of the module with a voltmeter. The pulse isn't there with ignition on. Which leads me to think i either have a setting wrong a wire not hooked up or something not hooked up correctly. But everything eles work exactally like it is supposed to.
