internal enclosure volume

I'm helping a friend install a single 10" Sony Xplod Sub( XS GTX100LW ) and I'm not sure how big to make the enclosure. We haven't been able to find any suggested volume for this particular sub. Can anybody give me an estimate of an internal volume to shoot for?

do 1 cu ft internal vol has to b around 12x12x12
installers do it best. we got the magic hands!
