ok guys, you don't want to know why it wouldn't remote start with the key in the ignition, but its fixed now.
PKFM still doesn't work, so i uploaded some vids for ya, along with some setup
vid 1.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_tV_E6BNLU
this is what i stare at all the time.
Vid 2.

This is what i think is "resetting" the module...
Vid 3.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4Ih0s2506o
This is the reset procedure with the D2D connection already hooked up.
Vid 4.

this is an attempt to reset the module without ever plugging in the D2D wire.
mind you if it's supposed to blink like that, it doesn't actually start the car, my security light just flashes and the car refuses to start, but throw the key in the tumbler and it fires right up.

you need to plug the power in and hold the program button it will light up for a second as your plugging it in and go out.
you are using d2d for power so that will be the cable you have to plug in. that is where the power for the module is coming
after that led goes out you will have to reprogram it.
the led after reset will blink with the security light on the dash with the 10 pin plugged in.
if it has pkford firmware and it is not programing. you might need to switch to pkf3 firmware.

in this video you got it to reset when you plugged in the d2d and then when you plugged in the 10 pin the blink of the led i bet corresponded to the security light on the dash
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJzS3Vqvzso
in this video the reason it does not reset is because you are using the d2d for power. and the 12 volt and ground are not hooked up in the 10 pin harness.

just use the d2d for the reset the led will not stay on as long as you hole the program button, but rather come on quick and go out when the led goes out it is reset and now has to be reprogramed.

Also when you first remote start it for the programing it will not start the car it is being learned.
after 10 second hit the brake or wait tell the remote starter shuts down.
Then try to restart it with remote starter again

nope, still not working. The PKFM doesn't have a firmware number on it, it only says the following:
LOT: 141
H.2 S.3
PKFM
still, no matter what i do, i can't get this thing to program. i checked everything possible.
Under programming, it says the Module LED will flash once then turn on again for (3) seconds. Module is programmed.
mine never does that. it steadfastly does nothing but blink with the security light.
maybe i cold-soldered the TX or RX wires on the harness?

make sure that the orange wire from the PKFM is attached to an ignition wire at the main harness. (will not program if not hooked up)
do not connect it to the pats ignition wire it is unreliable
if that is all good then,
the module comes from the factory programed with PKFORD firmware
if you are having this much trouble flash it with PKF3 firmare
and it should program.
I have never had this much problem with this bypasses
