i have a kenwood kac-9103D amp and (2) 12" Kenwood Subs KFC-W3009, how should I wire this up? The subs are each in a 4th Order Bandpass Box that I built to be tuned at 54 Hz, it's parallel wired currently, but I am unsure if this is the most efficient way and if the amp is too powerful for the subs, it sounds great, but I wanna be safe than sorry. How should I wire it up?
the amp specs:
Max Power Output: 1800W
Rated Power Output:
(4 Ohms) (20Hz-200Hz, 0.5%THD) 500W x 1
(2 Ohms) (100Hz, 1.1% THD) 900W x 1
(1 Ohm) greater than or equal to 900W x 1
the sub specs:
Peak 800W
Rated Input Power 200W
Nominal impedance 4 Ohms

you have it wired fine.  the amp is seeing a 2 ohm load and will run best in that mode.  900W is kind of misleading....you're probably in the 700W to 750W range depending on the efficiency, which is probably at 80 to 85%.  you're subs will be receiving about 350 to 375W each....shoud be ok as long as you have the gain adjusted properly.
...half of the truth can be worse than a lie. <----Roger Russell said that..
