Does the factory amp just control the 8 inch sub and the 4 other speakers are power by the deck?

Symptom:

No sound in front left speaker and a grouding alternating noise in the front right speaker (i have changed all four speakers and same issue)

Im pretty sure the factory deck is just blown, however the dealer told them they have to replace the factory amp which i just dont believe because most factory amps JUST do the subs.

Any suggections???

On a GM product the amp generally powers the entire system(as does Honda, Toyota, Chrysler, Nissan). If i had to guess i'd be pointing towards the amp too...

GM radios are pretty much bulletproof.  Their amps, not so much.

Especially the Tahoe/Suburban amps. Spill a drink in your center console, and you are SCREWED!

can i do i rewire around the amp? is the Gm deck capable of playing around the amp or do i need to get an aftermarket radio installed?

It will only play low volume without the amp. You can bypass the amp with an aftermarket radio, but if it were mine i would be checking Ebay and junk yards for a used amp....
