Just wired up a 2005 malibu with ads-al-ca from idatlink and have had no problems at all installing these. Until today... When it was all wired up ,it failed to program.upon trying to start with key it would run but only for a few seconds. There is no power to the dash- no lights except the engine light. No fuel guage,no passlock lights nothing..Tested all fuses under hood and at bcm ,checked fuse box for corrosion etc all good.. There is power on the brown acc wire at ignition switch, and ignition power on yellow wire at ignition switch when key is cycled..
Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated

IF 1. cluster gauges and backlight are functional but all indicators are inop, 2. you have run but no accessory,  Check 2amp(if origional) Key Sense fuse located in BCM fuse panel

change out the harneses for thei datalink bypass. I have come across some bad harneses, only a few and this will cause problems like this. Also call I datalink tech support and they will walk you through the process to test the harnes wireing. If you used the 3pin blue harness with the white WHITE/ red,WHITE/ black. Replace this harness first. It probaly is the problem. I have had three of the harnesses not work for some reason.  Also If i remember corectly on this vehical one of the ignition wires is opened up and connects to this harness. Try a dirffent module to just incase its bad too.

I know you said you checked all fuses and tested ignition and accessory wires, but still, here's where I would go with it. Test all five wires at the ignition switch for proper operation.
1. RED / white. Should have constant power. Protected by 2-amp fuse at BCM on right side of center console.
2. WHITE/ black 5-volt Reference. Should be about 5 volts at all times.
3. White Off/Run/Crank. ADS incorrectly refers to this as the "Passlock" wire, even though these cars don't have Passlock, only Passkey.
Anyway, the Off/Run/Crank should show 12 volts positive with the key in the ignition, and then test at various other voltages with the key in the Accessory, Run, and Start positions.
Also, take note of whether the key-in-ignition chime works, by inserting the key in the ignition with the door open.
4. Brown Accessory. I'm sure you know how to test an accessory wire.
5. Yellow Ignition. Test this too, of course.
--------------------------
Besides that, isn't there a wire at the PK3 module that you have to interrupt? Test both sides of that wire to make sure you made good connections, and to make sure the internal relay in the module is working correctly.
Maybe even consider putting the wire back together like factory just for testing.
Also, you said no power to the dash.....but how about other things like windows, radio, and climate controls?
If all else fails, never hurts to try disconnecting the car's battery for a few minutes. Might want to write down the customer's radio presets so you can reprogram them when done.

I would hope after 8 months they got the car figured out!
