hey i did a 5901 on an audi a4 everything worked fine but then the customer came back because the doors wouldnt unlock anymore then when he tried to remote start the factory alarm would go off. it started doing it a couple months after the install. i used a 556u bypass. i unplugged the brain pluged it back in and repositioned some wires and it started working again....but now tha problem has returned i was just wondering if any1 else has ever heard of this problem.

It sounds like a lose connection, cold solder????
*So you made your door lock connections in the door? If yes, did you connect your disarm wire lt.GREEN/ black with your blue unlock wire? Also, did you program double pulse unlock?

just to give you an update it appears that the computer goes to sleep after the factory alarm sets. so it doesnt allow the viper to unlock the door only the factory alarm. i tried triggering the ignition while hitting the unlock using a relay and that still didnt work. i tried to trace the wires coming off the door cylinder to the door module but audi uses metal instead of plastic for the inner part of the door panel so you cant see which wires are actually coming from the cylinder.

Yes and when I did one a couple of years ago the customer was screaming that he wanted total close, I was able to achieve it but couldn't unlock, a DEI techie came down to help me out but he couldn't sort it either, we tried the DKP and the lock/alarm unit in the rear to no avail, incidentally the R/S would only work within 20 secs of removing the key, the bloody customer in between berating me admitted they hadn't programmed the valet key!
The lesson being anything after 2002, use a CANMAX 400 or similar.
