Hello all,

I know there are several wiring diagrams on this site for this, but I'm having a hard time determining what one is right.  I've google searched as well, and it seems every diagram says something different.

99 Nissan Maxima, trunk release requires a negative signal to pop.

The relay should be wired as follows?

Negative trigger from remote start unit to 86

Ground 87
Constant 12v to 85
Trunk release wire to 30

Is that right?

Thanks in advance!

MOst alarm and remote starts put out enough to pop a trunk on most vehicles with (-) trunk releases. I couldnt tell you the last time I used a relay on a (-) trunk release.

I have not done a 99 maxima in a while but from what i remember that truck release wire is the trunk motor wire which is high current thats the reason for the relay

I think i remember that being the case also, the output from the alarm was not enough to trigger it on this car so a relay was needed...

If you have a 5-pin relay, you can also do it like this:

Either way, use a diode to protect your alarm unit.
