I installed a remote start on my 1999 Silverado several weeks back and now I get a solid security light. Everything works fine with the remote start, no issues whatsoever. I have a python RS with bypass module. Also, I noticed the factory alarm doesn't go off if you try to unlock the doors manually.

Try to program the Bypass module again.

Make sure ALLthe wires at the ignition switch are powered up.

I had an 02 that didn't seem to have a factory alarm, but set off the security light when remote started. I think I had to run a disarm wire in the door and it solved the problem. Green wire I think that tests positive when key Is in unlock position. Been a while so it's fuzzy.
