Hey everyone, I just got my viper 5704 2-way remote start/security system in the mail the other day and plan on wiring it in this coming weekend. Just have a question about the rear defogger. In all the info I have gotten for the wiring it does not mention anything about what wire is needed for the rear defogger to work while the remote start is activated. My truck is a 2006 Ford F-150 FX4 crew cab. If anyone has any ideas on how i should be hooking this up that would be greatly appreciated. I have attached a wiring diagram for the circuit.

hi
use the orange / YELLOW if the remote start has a timed defrost output (-) polarity. read the vehicle owners manual to see the time the factory has the defrost active, set time accordingly.
test the dark blue/orange from the heater controls for polarity (-) or (+) and duration (pulse or latch). if the polarity is negative, connect directly and set output type. if positive, invert polarity with relay and set output type.

For your car it's a orange / YELLOW wire at the passenger kick panel fuse box 24pin plug pin 22. (-) trigger. Use your blue/white wire from your remote start 24pin plug and set to latche. This will trigger the defrost for 10 min then I'll turn off.

You have the only post about the Viper 5704. Did you get an Installation Guide with yours? I just got one today and all it came with was a Quick Reference guide. I just installed a 5501 (Remote Start & Keyless entry only) in my 07 Cadillac SRX and I liked it so much I wanted to upgrade my 2000 Camaro Z28, but also wanted the alarm system. So I ordered the 5901. It came in the mail today but got the 5704 and they tell me it replaces the 5901.
Thanks in advance for your responce and good luck with your install!
