Hi all ,I am currently working on a 2006 Ford Focus Wagon, and cannot get the Fortin Key- overide all to program. I am thinking it might be because I have the incorrect pats wires. This model has the radio controls on the sterring column shroud and I am not sure how to get the lower half off to get to the pats module.

There is only 1 GREY/ ORANGE I can see coming down in the harness for the pats tx, but there are about 3 WHITE/ LT. GREEN wires in the harness for the pats rx.

I have used the key-overide all many times without an issue and I do have 2 valid ford keys Any tips or advise would be appreciated. Or if someone can tell me how you get the bottom shroud off when the radio controls appear to be unremoveable.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Note: I think the theft light begins to flash as soon as I remove the 2nd key

I did my daughters '05 Focus a couple of years ago. It had radio controls on the steering colume. As I recall, I used a small blade flat tip screwdriver to push in a button on the back side, maybe the bottom,  of it and it popped off.

I also had an issue with the tx and rx wires. There were two other wires the exact same color as the tx/rx wires, but were a slightly different gauge. My mistake, I used the  WRONG wires. After several tries I retraced the wires to the correct wires and Success.

Hope this helps.  I thought the Focus was a rather easy install.

smokeman1 , thanks so much for the reply. I went back out and took another look at those controls and infact there was a release tab on the back of the switch. bypasss module is now programmed and working.

The only thing left to fix is the door input/ status wire, i am currently using a blk/yel wire as per my info, located in the drivers kick panel however is constantly shows a negative even though i am pretty sure this is the correct wire.

I am not sure if I have to go to the passengers kick for this, should not be a tough fix

Thank you again for the reply, and yes  a few hicups but otherwise a very simple install.
