Has anyone had any luck with the tachless setting? It does not seem to be working on the 2008 250 diesel I installed it into yesterday. Truck starts and stays running for 4-6 seconds then shuts down and does this 3 times then done.

I've only installed just a few of those entry-level Compustar units, and don't plan to ever again.
I'm under the impression that the tachless setting on those things doesn't work. At least the one car I did tachless, a 2006 Pacifica, turned into a multi-comeback headache. It works just well enough to let you think everything's OK and send the customer on his way, and then fails the next day.
The Pacifica I was working on would remote start and run just fine, but then after about 3 seconds, the unit would turn off, try again....and then after two more tries stop completely. And there's no provision to adjust the voltage sensitivity or anything like that, either.
So I think you're probably going to have to hook up tach.
