Somehow I managed to program my remote so that it starts both cars at the same time. Can anybody please tell me how to get one of my Viper 5701's to "unlearn" a remote so that I can get these two cars set up correctly?

Thanks for any assistance,

Mike

you dont usually need to unlearn. there are steps in the manual that tell how to change the asignments of the buttons of a programmed remote.

around page 60 of the install pdf

Not sure about the DEI products, but most manufacturers only support 4 remotes at a time.  Program another remote into one of the cars 4 times.  That should knock the other one out.

you dont have to, you just re-assign them.

you can re-assing all in one step or re-assign each remote the way you want them to be.

you  may like your ARM button at the top, your wife when she drives might like the ARM at the second button and your girlfriend might want hers at the bottom. you can each have it the way you wish.....until the wife finds out.

Just erase and re-program both sets of remotes separately.

I have done that myself. Had one remote starting two vehicles at a time. I was switching out a new remote for the wifes car and used her old one for my work van. I ended up deleting all remotes from both vehicles and then as Howie said, reprogram the cars seperately.

When all else fails, Read the Instructions

I would with pleasure but I can't seem to access Directechs!
Maybe they read the 12Volt.
Isn't it ignition on, push valet switch and remote button till you hear a chirp?
Sorry, don't do enough Vipers to guess.
