Check out the info for the new amps... 2-4 ohm load and what happens when 1ohm is introduced. They mentioned something about the enclosures across the board are similar(Cant remember exactly, will look at notes, but a type S will be the same as a type R enclosure...Hmmmmm). Also, Dont go any higher then the Type R's... Type X are a disappointment when compared to the Type R Specs... One guy at the training had just filled his car with Type X and the Rep said... "Sorry"... "At least you can pass it on to the Customer..."

On your Crutchfield link click on "see more info about this item."  They offer some of the T'S specs as well as enclosure size recommendations.  I am surprised I don't find this on the official Alpine web site, however.
Sensitivity      84.7 dB at 1 watt
Frequency Response      24 - 200 Hz
RMS Power Range (Watts)      300-1000
Peak Power Handling (Watts)      3000
Top Mount Depth (inches)      6 3/8
Bottom Mount Depth (inches)      7 3/16
Cutout Diameter or Length (inches)      10 7/8
Vas (liters)      46
Fs (Hz)      27
Qts      0.44
Xmax (millimeters)      20
Overlooked that, Thanks!
sealed box volume: 0.75-1.00 cu. ft.
If anyone here was to buy these woofers would you go with manufacturer recommendations or make a custom enclosure with something like BassBox?
My current SWR-1043D's go well in .9Cu Ft each sealed, Nice Punch and ability to go low enough to flex my entire parcel shelf and steering wheel :-D Rear view mirror and side mirrors are already useless so suffice it to say they are not limited by this enclosure.
I'm Thinking 1.00 Cu Ft - 1.2 Cu Ft.
