I recently picked up the jvc kd-x50bt HU. I wasn't sure how I'd like having a deck with no cd player- but I gave it a try. I must say, I have been impressed with it so far. Until now..All of the sudden I seem to have about %40 of the bass that I used to have. I checked ALL of the settings for the woofer side of things, and everything has checked out. I checked all of the connections first, as that would have been the easiest solution. Unfortunatley, all was good there. The funny thing is, when I change the Line Output mode on the HU to "rear", I get my bass back. When I select "woofer" I loose it all over again.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Thanks

Sounds like your head unit is kaput, which is very familiar to me when I read the brand name JVC.  If it's under warranty, take it back where you bought it.

Check the crossover frequency of the deck. Or disconnect the battery for a few minutes to change everything back to factory settings. Then change it to Sub.
