how to stuff a sealed enclosure.

Hi guys, I have a sealed sub box that has dual 12" Jbl GTI MKiII subs. Jbl wants the sub in a 1.0 cu ft chamber per sub with loosley stuffed fiber fill. My question is I filled it loosely packed as stated and I was wondering if I should clear the back of the sub from the fill because the sub barely fits in the box as it is and didn't want to block the back of the sub. If any of you know this sub, it's huge. Any help? ThanksDon't know what the problem is yet... but I know what it's not.

"Loosely stuffed" means about 1/2 pound per cubic foot. Yes, you should clear the fill from around the woofer but not for any acoustic reason, but because when the magnet assembly heats up you don't want it to burn the fill material.Support the12volt.com

Thanks Dyohn, But it's almost impossible not for the fill to be in contact with the driver, also I'm assuming use the loose fill not the sheets correct? And when the box is turned with the subs firing straight foward the fill is going to fall on the sub. So unless im missing something, im stumped.Don't know what the problem is yet... but I know what it's not.

The fill can touch the driver, it simply should be kept away from the magnet assembly.Support the12volt.com

If the enclosure is properly built to the parameters of the driver(s) all the stuffing you should need is 3 inches on 5 of the 6 sides.  If the enclosure is smaller than optimal then you will want to add as much as possible.
