Hello everybody, I have a question about oem alarm disarm. Anytime I lock and arm the oem alarm on my 08 altima and then use the R/S transmitter to disarm/unlock the alarm goes off right after the doors unlock.
If I press unlock twice on the transmitter the alarm keeps quiet.
The same applies to popping the trunk.
Does that mean a double pulse is required to disarm and unlock?
What's funny is if I lock the car with the transmitter, one unlock is enough and the alarm doesn't go off.
I have it set for the oem alarm to be controlled by R/S (autostart as-2381fm, connected to BCM) and not by data (through ads bypass).
Any input is greatly appreciated.

The disarm wire on this car will require a (-) double pulse. If your R/S does not have that function, you may have to use relays.

The first pulse disarms, the second unlocks on this car. Doesn't explain what your problem is but that is how it is supposed to work...

Thanks for the replies guys. Apologies if I wasn't clear enough in the first post. If the car is locked and subsequently armed using the factory key and then using the R/S remote to unlock it is where te problem arises. If I press unlock once all doors open and right after that the alarm starts blasting. But if I press unlock twice (fairly quick) all doors unlock and the alarm stays quiet. The same problem exists when opening the trunk.

Regarding the relays could someone maybe explain what kind of relay I need or direct me to a post that would explain that.

I searched a bit in the relay section but didn't find any definetve answers.

Thanks again

Oh, forgot to mention, in the programmming options for the AutoStart unit there is an option under lock and unlock. It's a 7/10sec pulse for lock and two 1/4sec pulses for unlock. Itried using that setting without success and tech at directed told me it's for something else!?

Figured I would throw this in.

The 1/4 sec double pulse you mention of your R/S is only to the unlock wire. You could diode isolate the unlock wire and connect it to the vehicle's disarm wire & set the R/S unit to double pulse unlock.

afridihamid, do you mean splicing the unlock wire into two and connect one of the wires to the car's disarm?

Yes, this will give a double pulse to the unlock and disarm wire simultaneously.
See the picture below for reference.
For your application, the white stripes of the diodes will be towards the R/S unit.

You can simply cut the disarm wire close to the R/S unit and connect it to the isolated unlock wire.
