I want to add lock actuators to my 2004 Jeep TJ which has manual locks now. I want them to unlock the two doors and the tailgate at the same time, and lock them all together as well.

I'd be best to go with 5 wire actuators for all in this case, right? That way locking or unlocking any with the key would do the same for all, and I would be able to lock/unlock with my Compustar remote start as well?

I don't think I'd get the same result using the two wire actuators, even with relays, correct?

Thanks for any help or tips y'all can provide :)

Also, are 5 wire actuators as fussy as some of the post make them out to be?

Thxs :)

I have a wrangler as well and I used 2 Wire Actuators and had no problems. I didn't do the tailgate one though. I also made it work with my compustar system.

Thxs enice. Its looking like I'm going that way as well.

I've been talking with a friend in a shop near here, he's suggesting to stick with a 2-wire as well. I'm/we are thinking this might be the best way as well as I'd only be using them mainly with the hardtop and doors on, so would be using the fob on the remote start/alarm anyways, not the key so much (or at all.)

I dunno what actuators he has planned to get, but I hope they last :)
