Let me preface this by saying I have been installing Python RS's for years. Decided to jump over to Compustar and trying out their new CS800. The issue I am having is on this montego it will start one time and then attempt to start the next. With the Pythons I would always hardwire all the connections(power,GWI, ground, so on) I use mainly iDatalink bypasses.
On this particular vehicle I tried the 2 way datalink protocol. Could that be causing my issue?
Maybe the bypass and the RS are dropping communication. Should I try the 1 way data?

I haven't used / seen any CS800's yet but the last I heard the CS600 brain used with the CS600 and CS700 units is only one-way D2D compatible.  Don't know what they are using on the CS800 systems.

Soldering is fun!

If I am not mistaken the CS800 should be 2 way D2D Compatible. Also, you must make sure the system is set for tach. By default, the system is on voltage mode. Set 2-4 to 2 and program tach.

The only issue I've had with 2way d2d on 600 brains is anything with a red line on the idatalink diagram. i.e. tach, brake, etc. Doesn't sound like a d2d issue. Does the security light flash when it fails to start?

I just confirmed last night that the CS800 is indeed 2-way compatible.
blanx218... when you do see the red lines it means that its only compatible with "2-way" hence why it didn't work on the 600 brain. The 600S and 700S are "1-way' only.
