quick question...could you use the DSM200 or the DSM250 with any brand remote start? I heard possibly using the analog wires instead of the D2D cable.

it can be wired as a stand alone, and the activation output can trigger a remote start. Just out of curiosity sake, If you have access to directechs, wouldn't that mean you carry or carried directed products?

yes...I used to work for big chain company that provided us access to directechs...I now work at a dealership but install in the side. I never got to work with smartstart. I've only installed one of these using avital ESP port

I have used them with other products. Some are hardwired some are working through data.
