Does anyone know if the keyless buttons on the factory remote work with the engine running ?
I am trying to see if I can use a one button starter on this 2014 Forrester non push start.

Yes it'll work.
Be sure not to trigger keysense during remote start. (If the car sees keysense, the oem remotes won't work.)
Also, not sure what you're using for a bypass. Key in a box should be ok. If you're using an ALCA or FLCAN, you might end up having to disable the factory alarm. (The procedure is in the car's owner's manual.)

The wire from the idatalink harness is an input not an output. You should be fine.
