Hi all,
I bought the 2016 Elantra L not knowing it didn't have keyless entry so I bought and tried to install PWD701 off amazon.
The vehicle has power locks and should be type b according to tech sheet for 2015.
I ran into an issue where the unlock works but lock doesn't. That is I can unlock the car using fob but nothing happens when I tried to lock. Interestingly, if the door is locked, pressing the lock key on the fob will make the door trigger move as if it is locking (but its kind of pointless since it is already locked).
Is there any way to test if it is installation problem or problem with the keyless entry device.
Thanks

What wires did you connect the lock and unlock wires to and where did you find them ? And did you test these wires ?

Sorry, I have to ask. How did you buy a car an NOT know it didn't have keyless entry? I mean didn't you notice no FOB when they handed you the keys?

I connected the lock and unlock wires to the lock and disarm wires in the fusebox 24 pin connnector. I believe lock wire to the pink/black and unlock to green wire. I am not sure how to test them.

Yeah... The car I test driven was the LE-R model which does have keyless entry and remote start but the sales person told me the L version difference is only the remote start that is until I got the keys AFTER purchasing...
