I need you guy expertise
I have a Honda Ridgeline 2008. I installed an Avital 4103 remote starter with DBALL 2. I am using D2D installation. Everything is working fine, except:
After a remote start, even with the original key inserted, the car is still asking for the key. The car rum normally, but it is bothering me.
When I do a normal start, it does not happen.
Any idea?

Double check your security light cut. Db-all cuts it with the ORANGE / red, yellow/red. They list the wire color as blue/orange but I wouldn't trust colors . I would test and make sure the wire goes to ground every time the green light flashes.

Did you cut the right security light wire? Also, the DBALL2 unit wire colors are hard to identify, color strips are weak compare to the surrounding of the wire, do you have the ones? ORANGE / Red and Yellow/Red. The ORANGE / Red is hard to read. What I would do first, I would cut one of them to leave the security light wire from the truck open to see if the green security light issue is solved. Also, I would check brake connection, is your remote starter shutting down when you press on the brake pedal? If not, when you insert the key, your truck's BCM is seeing 2 keys and that would be why the green key remains on and you would need to either, connect the brown brake input of the r/s to the brake pedal or W2W to the brake pedal output of the DBALL2 (grey on red connector), assuming that you made no connection and using the D2D option.

Thanks you all. You guys went to the point.
I had inverted wires, YEL/RED X ORG/YEL. Now the green key go off when I insert the key.
Now another problem came up.
I am using a Avital 4103 with DBALL2 on D2D connection.
When I press start, the car never start at first time. It does at second tentative only. Any idea

Did you program your 4103 to tach mode? If so, did you learn tach input? Tach is taken by the DBALL2 on the CAN network and distributed to the 4103 on the D2D so no connection required.

Thanks Syl20rochon;
there is no connection on 4103 in regarding the tach. The Dball2 has connection on CAN Network.
I really can't explain why it works on second tentative. Seem like at the first the communication between the 4103 and DBALL2 throught D2D is not well established yet, just a guess.

Hi, the 4103 is factory set to virtual tach, you have to change it in menu 2 to tach and learn the tach afterwards. This will solve your issue. The virtual tach in Directed product for the exception of the Autostart isn't reliable.
