Looking to install an aftermarket RS unit in my 2007 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer. Are there data bus bypass units available for this vehicle? The info I can find leads me to believe things like door pins, door locks and such will need to be hard wired rather than controlled by the bypass unit (like an EVO-ALL or DBALL2). Is this right? Am I missing something?

Fort in evo all controls locks and factory alarm and door pins via can bus. Haven't checked the others but should be the same for isatalink and directeds dball2

Thanks tonanzith...I thought for sure they would but couldn't see anything in the install stuff that confirmed it.

No problem. You either have to look in the install manuals for them or on fortin it will actually tell you in the features.

As you can see on page 4 of the document, up to 07 only the transponder is covered. You will need to hard wire all other connections as none of the other options are on the CAN network. Using an EVO-ALL is a big over kill. Look for an EVO-KEY for your installation. That will do just the transponder which is all any of the bypasses will do.

I apologize. Fortin lists it as can bus but if you open the manual it says otherwise. Connection MUST be hard wired. My apologies. Very misleading.
