I installed an Omega K9 160LA under a year ago. Sensitivity was too high so I had several false alarms. Until one day, the siren stopped working altogether. I bought a DEI 514LN and replaced the siren. The new siren worked although it didn't sound normal. It was omitting a high pitch squeal before it too died a few moments later. Applying 12v to either siren does nothing. The wiring measures 12v, ground is good and the battery was charged. I'm worried if I get another siren that it too will fail. Any thoughts?

Do you have it mounted directly above the exhaust manifold?
Is it mounted with the opening facing downward?

Like i am an idiot stated, make sure it's mounted properly and away from heat but sometimes you never know and maybe you got some back to back defective sirens. I've had goofy things happen like that through 30+ years of installing and I then start second guessing things only to find out nothing was wrong with the install at all but it was just an unlucky roll of the dice and the parts.

The siren is on the intake side fender securely mounted downward facing the front. It is clean and dry using a chassis ground bolt nearby. I contacted Omega who said they would replace it under warranty. I'll probably send it back to see what they come up with. I didn't seen anything fried inside either siren. Everything looks normal, they just don't work anymore.
