I have an 08 Duramax.I am looking to install a viper 2 way alarm. My question is; if I use the DBALL2 module, will it utilize the the Factory installed remote start function or do I need to cut the factory harness?
Also I am looking at the Viper 5305V 2 Way. Any other recommendations?

If you want to retain a remote starter when adding an alarm, you will need to install a remote/alarm comb unit. There is no way to retain the factory remote start option as it would trigger any alarm system when activated.
