I have a Clarion head unit 40w X4 speaker leads that are currently not being used because all 4 of my speakers are wired directly to a Polk 4 channel amp. Now can I wire 2 additional speakers to the unused reciever speaker leads without interupting the RCA signal to my amp/speakers?
in other words are the speaker wires on a reciever always gonna recieve a signal even if RCA's are connected?
Thanks

Short and sweet answer. Yes you can add speakers to the speaker outputs of the radio.

The so called 40 watts of your radio is actually 17.5 watts. If your amplifier is 2 ohm stable, you would be better off connecting them to the amplifier.
