Hi. I'm wiring in a remote entry system, and the instructions show this diagram for wiring the relay. I'm concerned because this goes against what I know about how relays work (which isn't much). Everything I've seen has 30 going to battery positive, 85 to ground, 86 is the switch that connects the two, and 87 is the output with 87a being the power through the "off" position. Does this diagram make sense?

It is fine. If the alarm is armed it will put ground on the orange wire. Anytime the start wire is energized with the alarm armed, the relay will energize and break the connection between 87a and 30, thus not allowing the starter motor to turn.
