Working on a project for an older 6 volt vehicle. Is there a way to trigger the coil of 12 volt automobile relays with 6 volts?

What are you trying to turn on with the relay? A small dc/dc converter adjusted to 12 volts or so out. Output side connected to the relay coil. Input would be controlled by a switch? More info would help.

You can easily use a resistor and a 5 volt relay. Find a 5 volt relay that will suit your needs and measure the resistance of the coil, let me know that reading. Also get me an actual voltage reading that will be triggering the relay.
