I want to replace 2 blown Pioneer TS-W12Prs 1200 max subs that my cousin destroyed after borrowing them for 2 months.
I want to replace them with 2 Pioneer TS-W1200pro 450 rms and 1500 max dual 4ohm subs.
I have 2 mtx 1501d mono amps to power both subs.
The mtx 1501d specs are:
12.5 volts
rms 500 X 1 in 4 ohms
rms 1000 X 1 in 2 ohms
14.4 volts
rms 750 X 1 in 4 ohms
rms 1500 X 1 in 2 ohms
In the manual Mtx 1501d is 2 ohm stable they have (2) 4 ohm speakers 1 on each speaker channel. The other setup is (4) 8 ohm speakers 2 on each channel.
My Questions are can the Pioneer Ts-W1200pro subs be matched to the Mtx 1501D Thunder amp.
Can the Pioneer TS-W1200pro be wired to 2 ohms or will it destroy the speakers.
If I did wire the Pioneer TS W1200pro do I have to wire 1 of its voice coils to 1st channel on the mtx amp, and the other voice coil to the 2nd channel of the amp.
My last question is which is better Pioneer TS-W1200pro and the Pioneer TS-W3002D2/D4 and what are the real diffrences between these subs.

If I had that amp I'd consider something like this wired at 4ohms and in a custom built box:
Dayton Audio UM12-22 12" Ultimax DVC Subwoofer 2 ohms Per Coil
Nominal Diameter            12"
Power Handling (RMS)       600 Watts
Power Handling (max)      1200 Watts
Impedance   2+2 ohms
Frequency Response 20 to 1,000 Hz
Sensitivity       86.7 dB 2.83 V/1m
Vented 4.0 cubic ft. (net internal, not including driver or port volume) tuned to 20 Hz with a 10" wide by 1.5" high slot port that is 25" long, which yields an f3 of 19 Hz
Not that those pioneers looked bad.
Dodge Magnum in progress:
Pioneer DEH-80PRS - PPI Amps - Dayton Subwoofer(s) - Exodus Anarchy's - Vifa Tweeters - Kinetik Battery
