hey guys, im a professional installer and i was wondering on your guys opinions of the new starters out this year
the viper ds4 and ds4+
ads idatastart hc
and the new compustar FT-DC3-S
just wondering if you guys have used any of them yet and what your thoughts are?
i have used the idatstart and i love them i have had zero issues with them
and i heard the new FT-DC3-S is basically the same thing just under compustars name
i have also got a free viper ds4 from viper as a trial and its ok i did have issues programming it to my 2016 f-150 and had to call tech support and i could not get the bluetooth flashing to work. once i got it up and running it looks to be a good starter too
i really love that the bypass modules are build in such a time saver. and with all the T-harness they make a very easy clean install i can do the new chevys trucks, dodge rams and caravans in like 30 min start to end

I've used the iDatastart HC series and really like them. Very solid unit with great remotes. Never an issue.
I do not have any experience with DEI branded units so can't make any comparisons.
Soldering is fun!

I used the hc1 Idatasrart and absolutely love it...cuts a lot of installs in half!!! DS4 is basically a dball2and it’s a preference thing. I prefers the simplicity of the programming of the Idata and for that reason it’s what I stock and use. BUT...Idata starts do not do manual transmissions (yet) and some brands that the DS4 will do...so having a few on the shelf is a good idea...don’t be a one trick pony, or you’ll get burned with a customers car in your shop that can’t be done and you look...dumb!
Best of luck
Solder, tape, repeat!

dc3 is a nice unit, accepts all T harnesses. but its a little pricey at around 91$ cost. plus remotes plus t harness if applicable. i try to stay under 100 in parts. its impossible with dc3
