First post! Awesome. Quick thanks to anybody on this forum, I have used it many times as a guest and now am confident I do not need to go anywhere else for help with electronics on my Dakota.

Ok so my dilemma,

(2door,ext.cab) 1997 Dodge Dakota 5.2L w/ infinity stereo system.

I have replaced the factory head unit with a new one. A Kenwood if it mattered. I have also replaced the two front speakers in each door.

I have an aftermarket amp and subwoofer I would like to install next. Thanks to previous research I have found that will be an issue unless I get around the factory amp somehow. I have seen a post, or two that barely touch on this subject but not in the detail I feel I need.

I am asking for the procedure in which to follow for bypassing the factory amp, or the most efficient way to connect my new amp to the stereo and all four speakers( I removed the two tweeters in doors). A wire color chart would be appreciated as well, but I know I can find that on a previous post.

Houston we have a problem.

I cut out the factory stereo harness plug. That product won’t work for me. Any other suggestions ?

It plugs into the harness that plugs into your OEM amplifier. It has enough wire on it to run to your radio location. You can use it.

Ok great! Thank you again.

So I will wire that to my radio, and then continue as if I never had an amp to bypass, as far as wiring my new amp and sub in?
