I recently purchased a DB3 locally and an XKLoader2 off the internet and now need to flash the firmware. Apparently this can no longer be done without being registered with Directechs.com, and you can only register if you are an authorized dealer or installer. The shop I bought it from told me I could do it myself or they could charge me $75 on top of the $99.95 they sold me the unit for which seems a little high, so I chose to do it myself and have now found out through Directed that I cannot. Does anyone know if the firmware can just be downloaded somewhere, or any way I can still flash this myaself? I have a 2006 Silverado SS with a Viper 5906v installed. Any help would be awesome, thanks.

A rip off. The UK distributor, $75 wholesale will flash it and print out the install guide, all in the price if you ask nicely.

So I was able to get the firmware flashed, 2 issues I have now are when I remote start the factory alarm goes off so I have to unlock the truck before or after it starts. Second isssue is when I take over after a remote start my gas pedal doesn’t work and I have to shut the truck off and restart with the key. Anyone had either of these issues?

Yeah I tried the safe start option and it didn’t make a difference. I had the shop that I bought it from flash it.

With the DB3 and some newer vehicles the flashing process is a 2 step process. 1st flash is prior to installing in the vehicle and second flash is to finalize after everything is hooked up. Both which now require a account to flash.
