I have a 2007 dodge charger someone hacked the factory wiring harness up in, I have resolved the feedback noise, and subwoofer, however I can not get radio data on the unit it is a pioneer 4000nex. I checked the factory antenna, and tried replacing the antenna adaptor and same thing. Thinking it is a simple wire issue but can not find identification for the wires.

In that vehicle there is no wire associated with the am/fm antenna.

I discovered that. Would using am outside antenna instead of factory resolve it?

How is the reception? You will have to try plugging one in and see.

The reception is non existent. Absolutely no signal. I will try the antenna. I think it is a factory antenna issue because the reception gradually got worse before it stopped entirely?

It is either the tuner inside the deck or the antenna. If you do not have another use for the antenna adapter you can cut the car end of it off, strip the outer sheath most of the way to the radio end, a few inches at a time, then remove all of the shielding from it and use that as a temporary test antenna.

This car loses its switch wire when the proper harness and plug are not used. The factory harness does not have a switch wire.

Connect the red wire of your radio to the positive wire of the cigarette lighter. If your lighter is hot all the time, there is a fuse in the fusebox that has 2 possible positions, move it to the other position.
